Yearbook

I plan to buy a yearbook this year due to Caitie being in the Sage program (a gifted reading class) and Chorus. She had group pics taken for both programs this last Friday. At first I thought the pics were like her class pic, that she would bring them home, then it dawned on me that I didn't pay for them and they are likely for this year's yearbook. This is the first year I'll be buying a yearbook. She was in drawing and cheer last year, but those weren't school related, so there were no pics taken for the yearbook for those programs.

I took this cell phone pic when I picked the girls up from school this last Friday (the blue/orange t-shirt caitie's wearing is her chorus shirt)...

A Glittery, Glow and Cold Saturday Night

We went to the Glendale Glitter and Glow Block Party on Saturday night. We've gone every year for the last ten years; we first went when Caitie was just a baby, around five months old. It is now tradition. The girls love it.

We all went on this ride called the Tornado, but I decided to pass on it the second time around so the girls and their daddy could enjoy more fast spinning that couldn't be enjoyed when I joined in on the ride the first time around... talk about feeling queasy... yuck! It was awful. What is it about aging that causes a person to get queasy from a little spinning? Then again, I'm not sure aging has anything to do with it since their daddy could handle it. I sometimes feel I have three kids to deal with. ha He loved that ride as much as the girls did... the faster, the better. You can't tell it here, but it was pretty crowded and very cold.

Their daddy won all of us girls stuffed animal dogs from the water gun game; he always does well at that game. Yes, he even won me one. My 'kid at heart' moment, I guess. ha :)

I got pics of all we did with my Canon camera as well, but those will have to wait for a future post.

Gotta love Eddie Rabbitt. Please tell me you know who he is. ha You know his song... 'I Love a Rainy Night'. You remember, right?

Here's a couple more pics from my cell phone... I took these pics yesterday.

We're lovin' the rainy days... it gives Bailey an excuse to use her new Olaf umbrella she got for Christmas.  I took this pic when picking the girls up from school yesterday.

We went to see the Peanuts movie at a 'bargain movie theater' last night. It only cost $6 for all of us to get in... $1.50 per ticket (this deal is on tuesdays only, all other days a ticket is $3), then you add in the concession stand cost, this is where they get ya... it cost around $15 for a large popcorn and drink. Not such a good savings on the food/drink items. We all shared the popcorn and drink. The popcorn wasn't all that great, so we won't be buying it again. The total for the outing came out to around $21. Still better than going to an upscale theater, but we did miss the upscale movie theaters we're used to.

We've seen a total of three movies in the last few weeks. We don't go to the movies very often, so I guess we're making up for it now. ha

Picnic and Bookstore

We went on a picnic today, but didn't get going until late afternoon, so we went to Subway real quick and picked up a few subs for the girls and their daddy, and a salad for me. We went to the park, but it was dark by the time we ate and the girls played on the swings, slides, and monkey bars. It was pretty cold, so we didn't stay very long, but it was fun while it lasted. After we left the park we went to Barnes & Noble. Michael got me a gift card from there for Christmas and I wanted to look around. We all love that bookstore.

Here we are at Subway. The girls are waiting patiently while the orders are being placed. I've been pretty lazy the last few days when it comes to laundry. I did only the necessary laundry, which means me and the girls wore the same clothes for the last three days, the outer clothes, that is, we did have on fresh undies. ha (just thought i'd mention that in case you've noticed the girls wearing the same clothes over and over again. ha) Michael had clean clothes up until today, that means I have all our clothes to do tomorrow, undies included, before the girls head back to school on Monday, and Michael heads back to work on Monday as well. We're all bummed about getting back to the same school and work routine. It's been nice being off the last two weeks.

The park pics didn't come out very good due to it being dark out, but here are a couple of pics I took real quick using flash. Caitie coming down the slide head first, backwards.

We spent New Year's Eve at Peter Piper Pizza. Yummy pizza, lots of games, tickets, prize counter, and ice cream. What better way to end the year? It was fun. :) (the girls trying to figure out what they want at the prize counter)

We spent New Year's Day (2016) with Arlo. We went to see the movie 'The Good Dinosaur' (arlo is the main character in the movie). We went to an early afternoon showing.

After the movie we went home and built the girls' new dune buggy they got for Christmas from Santa. After it was built we took them to a nearby park to take it for a spin. They both drove it.

They love it! I drove it too. It goes pretty fast.

As I type this, the girls and their daddy are taking down the Christmas trees. We have four trees; one big tree and three little ones. The trees being taken down means the holidays are officially over. *sniff*
