Spring arrived last Saturday, which means the heat isn't too far behind, so Michael decided to go ahead and plant some summer grass, which he did on Monday. It was a nice day to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather. It's been going from the low 70s to the low 80s for a week or so. I wish it would stay in the 70s for a while, but it looks like the 80s are fighting hard to stay. I think there's one more possibility of a cold front coming through next week, then most likely the 80s will take over and stay for maybe a week or so, then the triple digits will hit, and that's how it will be for the next several months. Well, maybe the 100s won't hit that quickly, but they're not far off! blah... Anyway, here are a few pics from this last Monday...Caitie picked some 'flowers' for me from one of the Lantana plants.
She then picked more 'flowers' from both the Lantana plant and an Oleander plant in order to make something with her bucket and baby tiger. It turned out pretty.
We let one of our cats out to explore a bit. Holly-Hoo is a lazy cat and a bit on the heavy side, which keeps her from going over the fence, so we're not afraid of letting her out occasionally. She loved it; she didn't want to go back inside.
She was batting her barely-there eyelashes at Michael, silently pleading with him to let her stay outside, it didn't work though. I could have told her she was wasting her time, I've tried the same thing for different reasons and it has yet to work for me. You would think Holly would have had a better chance though, she's a cutie.
Caitie asked her daddy to stop mowing before all the 'four-leaf clovers' were gone. She went through this patch of 'clovers' to grab as many as she could before Michael mowed over it.
As you see here, they're gone.
I was barefoot and walked in the freshly cut grass weeds and got the bottom of my feet all green, so Caitie volunteered to clean them for me by spraying them with the hose.
Caitie helped with the sweeping. Not too long after this she and her daddy threw some grass seeds on the yard, but it was getting dark by then, so I didn't take any pics. Hopefully we'll see some pretty green grass in a couple of weeks.

Here is a video clip of her groovin'. But first, let me give you a breakdown of her dance moves... She starts off doing something with her rocking chair, don't ask me what, but it was interesting. She then does some slow moves, one being what I would call the 'hip jerk'... ummm... yeah, the 'hip jerk'; she has quite the expression at one point while doing this move. She also throws in a quick kick during the hip movement phase of the dance. She then does the 'fly like a bird' move, then does some turns. She does some hand movement on the armoire, then does more turns, and then not long after, the dance comes to an end, much to mine and Molly's dismay. (click on 'play' button to view video clip)
Touch of Spring:
Caitie and I spent last Tuesday afternoon out back enjoying the beautiful weather; here is a pic of her searching for four-leaf clovers in the backyard. I type this as I sit wrapped in a blanket with the heat turned up due to a cold front that came through recently.
Quick Dessert:
Most, if not all of you, have probably made the following quick dessert, but I decided to include it here anyway. It brings spring to mind, which is just around the corner. All you need is a 6 oz containter of Yoplait Key Lime Pie yogurt, one graham cracker, and a couple of dollops of Cool Whip. You can either crumble the graham cracker in the bottom of a bowl, add the yogurt, then top with the Cool Whip, or you can just crumble the graham cracker in the yogurt as I did, and include the Cool Whip on top...
then enjoy! :) It's a quick, cool, refreshing snack.
Mall Moments:
We went to the mall the other day; we don't go to the mall often, we're more Target and Wal-Mart kinda shoppers. I decided to get my Flip Recorder out and record a bit of the mall shopping experience. The video clip is a bit lengthy, I think it's around four minutes, so you may want to watch it when you have absolutely nothing else to do and are bored out of your mind. There's not a whole lot to it, but thought I would include it here anyway. As you'll notice, Caitie has a thing about mannequins, especially ones missing body parts, and she also likes playing with items on display; of which we almost got in trouble for. She went on a short kiddie train ride and pouted due to not getting to make a stuffed animal at the Bear Factory. She helped me out in the dressing room at a maternity shop, she also helped her Daddy pick out some new shoes at Payless Shoe Store. We tried to get him to try on a pair of men's sandals, but it was a no-go; he doesn't like open-toed shoes. She also had fun riding the escalator at Macy's. you saw your daughter with her idea of a suitcase in hand walking out the door? My response was... "Please stop! It was just a bath. So your hair got wet, as did your ears, but was it really that bad that you have to leave?" All I could do is plead with her as she did with me when it came to getting her hair wet; my pleading with her to stay, her pleading with me to leave her hair alone as she ran around the bathtub trying to get away. Caitie still doesn't like having her hair washed. *sigh* Just so you know, she didn't leave... chocolate is a great persuader when it comes to children, as it is with women as well... I know. Mentioning chocolate, I haven't had any in quite a while, what other way is there to raise one's serotonin level? I'm sure Michael would like to know; I've been a bit... what's the word? Oh yeah... moody lately. Well *pffft* to him. *hmph* I don't think I'm moody; how dare he?!? I can't believe I just wrote that, I didn't mean it, Michael; if you're reading this, know that I'm sorry. hmmm... But why should I be sorry?!? I have a right to feel however I choose to feel; So there! Me, moody? Yeah, right... ummm... uhhh... anyway... moving on now... (i took this pic not long after she got out of the bathtub. just kidding about her wanting to leave. really!) Have you actually read this far?!?
