Little Southern Gal

I enjoyed taking these pics. Caitie was in the mood to pose, and I took advantage of it. It was a silly photo session; we were both bein' silly, which made it fun.

She reminds me of a southern gal here. Gotta love the hat.

We need to look into getting a trampoline; this girl loves to jump and bounce around.

Time for a siesta.

Flowers, Bubbles, Shorts & Ducks

The title says it all...

But I'll add a little...

Part of a bouquet of flowers Michael bought me recently. The styrofoam cup they're in was decorated with colored popsicle sticks by moi; Caitie and I had a craft day.

Blowing a really long bubble.

I'm lovin' the blue and white checkered shorts; I'm feeling nostalgic for the '50s.

They're back... we had two ducks visit our backyard last spring, and it seems they're back. We know they're the same ones because we branded them. They weren't too happy with the hawk emblem we chose... they're ducks, you see... Never mind, I know you're not buyin' it. (it's late)

Looking for work

Would these pics work in a fashion magazine? Should I check with Glamour or Vogue to see if they would be interested in having me as a photographer, or should I keep my 'whenever I feel like blogging' job? Don't answer that.

This is an adorable bracelet I ordered for Caitie from heather ann designs on etsy.

This is another one from heather ann designs. I love the color of the stones in combination with the silver; the colors and design give it a somewhat rustic look which goes good with jeans, but it can be worn with dressy outfits as well.

The Apprentice becomes horrendous

The Celebrity Apprentice, that is. What has this show come to? The boardroom 'shenanigans' have gone too far, in my opinion. I know it's good for ratings, but come on! Let me *bullet point my thoughts on it for you:

* Defaming Khloe Kardashian for a mistake she made(not that i condone what she did, but we all make mistakes), of which she is taking responsibility for, and then firing her for a reason that has nothing to do with her performance on the job, was just wrong and in poor taste, in my opinion.

* Last night's firing of Melissa Rivers. This happened after 'note passing' from Trump to his guest judge at the last minute while in the boardroom. Ironically, Melissa had called how her two teammates treated her as "high school" behavior; I guess it carried over into the boardroom with Trump and his guest. The reason she got fired was wrong, in my opinion. It was big bucks versus hard work; the big bucks won, of course. Her mother, Joan Rivers, walking out was a nice touch, don't you think? ha I shouldn't take it lightly, I think her mother did the right thing, under the circumstances. Melissa was going ballistic after being fired, and I actually feared what she might do upon leaving the premises; at least with her mother leaving with her, she would be less likely to do something 'crazy'.

* Don't get me started on Dennis Rodman. His final boardroom appearance seemed more like an intervention than a firing session. I must admit, it was emotional.

Clint Black(with the exception of the episode six fiasco) has done well and is one of my faves on the show, along with Scott Hamilton. Scott was fired on episode three, I believe. He didn't have a chance with the cut-throat celebrities he had to deal with. I go back and forth with Joan and Melissa Rivers. Sometimes they're entertaining, other times they show the 'spoiled' side of celebrity. And then there's Jesse James. I did like him, but after he stabbed Clint in the back in last night's episode, any respect I had for him has all but disappeared(i'm sure if he knew this, he would be most upset). He was downright rude and mean. It was uncalled for, in my opinion.

Why do I keep watching, you ask, since I get so upset over the boardroom theatrics? I'm waiting for a cat fight between the poker lady and the once upon a time playboy bunny; that should happen on next week's episode; there's no way I'm missin' that one(michael's looking more forward to this one than i am. i wonder why?). If you're not watching already, and want to tune in for the remaining episodes(why you wouldn't want to tune in, i haven't a clue), The Celebrity Apprentice airs on Sunday nights at 8pm PST, or you can watch them online at your leisure(there aren't many left). Be prepared for an adrenaline rush... seriously; the boardroom can be brutal. By the way, all winnings on the show go to the winning celebrity's charity, so it's not all bad.

Last night's show was the first one we've seen as it was aired, we usually DVR the show. Even though we DVR it, we usually end up watching it via the Internet on the big screen in the living room, which is now known as the movie room(pics coming soon). There's only one commercial at each break instead of several, and it doesn't last long, this means less interruption, which is nice. We usually watch two or three episodes at a time; we think it's more fun that way.

Depending on how it goes in next week's episode, you may see a post titled 'Dump the Trump'. You will now know what I'm talkin' about. ha

Praying for Stellan

Stellan is having surgery today. A suggestion was made that everyone who prays for Stellan during this time wear orange. (click on Stellan's pic on the sidebar to read about it.)

We're praying for you, Stellan. :)

Dreaming of Simpler Times

Aren't we all?

I feel like going and jumping into a water hole and reading the tale about ol' Huck Finn under the shade of an old oak tree... Yep, that sounds good right about now, and has for a very long time, actually. This gets me to thinkin'... Could I get by without this here laptop? Gosh, I would hope so. I think I've forgotten how to use pen and paper to write out my thoughts; that seems so foreign to me, which is very sad. I think people from way back when had it made, I really do. Anyway, it's time for some lemonade; and no, not the fresh-squeezed kind, that's too much work, I don't miss the simpler times that much, I'm talkin' instant lemonade in a container that sits in the door of my fridge. Now that I think about it, I'm too lazy for the simpler times... yep, way too lazy... I'm glad I live in modern times with many conveniences. So much for the theme I had goin'... *hugging my laptop*

Expensive Easter Egg Hunt

That didn't even happen. We went to the Wildlife World Zoo today. We've been to the Tiburón Restaurant before that's located at the zoo, but this was our first visit to the zoo itself. Our main reason for going was so Caitie could participate in their Easter Egg Hunt. Her age group was scheduled for 1:30pm, of which we were a few minutes late, so she missed out. If you decide to visit this zoo, be prepared to part with some serious cash... talk about expensive! Even though they charge too much for admission and food, we did enjoy our visit. Below are some pics from our visit to the zoo.

This first pic was taken the night before; Caitie and I colored Easter eggs.

Here's the entrance to the zoo, which includes an aquarium as well. I took this pic when we left the zoo, but decided to show it at the beginning.

They have a carousel. This was the first thing Caitie wanted to do; no surprise there. She wanted on the rabbit, of course. She had 'bunny' on the brain. ha

I don't remember the name of this cute little animal. I wanted to bring it home; it would have fit in my purse. Talk about cute!

Here's my favorite animal to view at the zoo... the giraffe. It looks like they're doing some kind of team dance.

You can feed the giraffes...

He's not spitting at us, he's sticking his tongue out hoping for some food...

Of which Caitie was happy to oblige.

We saw this train while feeding the giraffes...

We then decided to take a train ride.

We then went to view the aquarium.

Caitie held and touched some starfish.

Seahorses in love... awww...

We loved the Stingray pool. We put our fingers in the water, when we did this, the Stingrays would come up and we were able to pet them. We stayed for quite a while. This is Michael petting a Stingray while Caitie looked on.

This one was coming up towards me; I got a quick pic before petting it.

After leaving the aquarium we headed to the gift shop, and then headed home. Caitie is wearing the top that matches the dress and hat in the previous post. I didn't get a good pic of it, but decided to show this pic since it shows the back of the top, which I think is really cute and shows the flowers that match the dress.

We were in a hurry to get to the zoo, so we didn't get a chance to give Caitie her Easter baskets until we got home, which was evening by then. Those aren't all Caitie's Easter baskets, two of them are, plus the bubble bucket and books, but the basket on the left was for me(michael surprised me). :)

As you can see in the pic above and in the pic below, Caitie picked out an alligator, or crocodile, not sure which it is, hat and stuffed animal in the zoo gift shop.

Since Caitie missed out on the Easter Egg Hunt at the zoo, we hid the eggs from her Easter basket in the backyard for her to find; we had to hurry since the sun was going down.

Little Miss Sunshine

In her Easter dress...

I got this dress and matching hat at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant gift shop. The shirt she wore for her Easter Day outing(pics in the next post) goes with this dress. I like how that worked out.

Play Ball!

Caitie's getting serious about baseball. She's wearing a Diamondbacks shirt as she contemplates putting in some t-ball time before the Diamondbacks hit the field; today is the season opener at Chase Field... Go Diamondbacks!

She can't wait to get started.

She's getting in her batting stance...

She's lining the bat up with the ball...

She takes a swing... and it's a hit!

She was off and running, of which I forgot to get a pic, so decided to show this pic instead. She decided to take a break from t-ball and do some exploring.

This pic has nothing to do with baseball, but don't you just love the way her hair is flowing in the breeze? It looks like an ad for a shampoo commercial. Remember 'The Breck Girl' from the 70's, or maybe it was the 80's? Does Breck even exist anymore? Does this really matter? Anyway... don't you just love the way her hair is flowing in the breeze...
