I Love a Rainy Night

Gotta love that ol' Eddie Rabbit song.

A thunderstorm passed through last night. It was a pleasant surprise considering we haven't had much of a monsoon this year. More thunderstorms are expected over the weekend, mostly due to remnants from Hurricane Jimena.

Caitie couldn't wait to go play in the rain. There wasn't much lightning, and it was far off, so we headed outside into the pouring rain. A puddle formed all around the patio, which made for splashing and sliding fun. I got a few pics, but since it was dark, and the lighting on the patio isn't the best, they're of low quality.

Caitie was getting soaked, so I decided to make her a poncho. I got a garbage bag and cut a hole in the bottom of the bag for her head and one on each side for her arms, and voila... instant homemade poncho. Gotta love homemade stuff. ha I put a hat on her, and she was all set.

As you can see here, as best as you can through her poncho, she did some mud slidin'; her undies are covered in mud. She did the mud slidin' before I had the idea to make the poncho.

When we came inside, she headed straight to the bathroom, she couldn't wait to get the mud off her hands. I didn't ask her to, she did this all on her own. She has fun in dirt/mud, but she doesn't like to stay that way for long; she likes things clean. I wonder where she gets that from? hmmm...
