Celebrating via Movies

We didn't travel for Father's Day or my birthday this year. We usually go somewhere on those days, but chose to take it easy this year. Here are some pics from both days...

First, Father's Day.

Caitie and I made her daddy breakfast. As you see in the pics below, we made two heart-shaped fried eggs that had grated cheddar cheese and salsa in between them, and also put salsa on the top to make a smiley face, we then put a scattering of extra grated cheese around the hearts. We didn't have all the makings for pancakes, so the egg dish had to do.

Caitie and I made her daddy a cottonball guy and an old-fashioned TV card for him; I found these crafts at a site online. I then got Michael Blue Tooth headphones he was wanting (he knew about these), and I also got him a book about the Android Phone that he's been wanting; this he didn't know about. I wanted to surprise him with something. I also ordered a card from Hallmark with his and Caitie's pic on the front, with one inside and on the back as well. We then gave him a card from each of us.

Here is a close-up of the little cottonball guy. On the paper stuck to his side it says, " #1 Daddy", which Caitie wrote.

I, of course, had to stick to tradition and put a caricature of them on white t-shirts. They each say something a little different, but the pic is the same.

Here is the movie we went to see that night. We wanted to stick to a kid-oriented movie, and Caitie chose this one. She loved the movie, as did Michael. I thought it was OK.

We then celebrated my birthday a few days later, on that Wednesday. Michael got me some nice things, such as the water fountain. This is more to save money on our water bill than as a gift for me. I like the sound of running water, so when I get ready for bed at night, I let the sink water run, whether I need it on or not. He's hoping the water fountain will keep this from happening. We shall see. He also got me a new Flip Recorder, this one is in HD. It's really nice. I have some videos to put on the blog, I'll do that soon. He also got me jewelry from Kohl's; so pretty. And he also got me a card and some pretty flowers. Caitie gave me one of her favorite cats and a pillow to help support my back in the chair. She also made me a pretty sign. So sweet. :)

Here's a close-up of my pretty flowers.

Caitie and I posing for a quick pic; it was done via self-timer on my Canon 40D.

We went to see another kid-oriented movie that night, this time it was Shrek. We all liked it, but it's not as good as the other three, in my opinion. It was a nice birthday. :)
