We're all nutty...

for Nutella. Lame, I know. Hey, it's late, what do you expect? Even if it wasn't late, what do you expect? um, yeah...

I don't remember why Nutella came to mind the other day, but it did. I never had it before, but decided to give it a try. After tasting it, I decided to look online for recipes that called for Nutella. I found a 'Peanut Butter & Nutella Brownies' recipe. They taste like regular brownies to me except there is a bit of a nutty taste to 'em, but not enough to make 'em special, if ya know what I mean. Anyhoo, if you care to give this recipe a try, here's the ingredients and directions...

½ cup butter (i prefer unsalted), melted (i melted mine in the microwave)
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
¼ cup peanut butter (chunky, smooth, whatever you have on hand)
¼ cup Nutella

Mini chocolate chips (optional) (put as many as you like)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom of an 8x8 inch pan (i used a glass dish and sprayed it with pam).

Measure the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into a small bowl and whisk to combine.

Stir the sugar into the melted butter. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Put the Nutella and peanut butter in a small bowl and microwave until runny (about 30 seconds). Fold into brownie mix.

Optional - Add as many mini chocolate chips as you like into the brownie batter (i didn't measure, so not sure how much i put in, but it wasn't much; i probably should have put more, i couldn't really tell they were there), stir them in; you can also sprinkle some mini chocolate chips on top.

Pour the batter into the pan and and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top forms a crust.

It's quick and easy.

And here they are... Let them cool a bit before cutting. Be sure and have white milk on hand; warm brownies (slightly cooled) and cold milk, what a delicious combination.

Just like last time, Bailey fell asleep while Caitie and I were baking. So cute. Not long after this, Bailey woke up and wanted to taste a brownie, but wasn't too successful...

Sweet sisters sharing... or not...

Gotta love that sweet sisters bond thing.

Feel the need to visit an ophthalmologist now? Don't worry, there's no need, I'm sure you're not the only one that had to squint, or go get a magniflying glass, or run and get your spouse to make sure the font in the 'bubble comments' is as tiny as looking from a 10-story-building at an ant crossing the sidewalk below; the font is a bit on the small side... just a tad... um, yeah. Sorry 'bout that.
