As you can see, I'm behind in blogging. I hope to catch up someday soon.
For now, back to Easter.
The day before Easter, Caitie and I baked an Easter bunny cake.
As you can see, Caitie is ready to go at it...

This is what she does best... licks the blender beaters and the bowl. ha

Here is how the cake came out...

Here it is frosted. I think I like it better before being frosted. But it's still cute. (yes, i forgot to do the whiskers)

We colored eggs the night before Easter. (please ignore the lousy color in some of the pics below)

This was after coloring eggs. As you can see, Sassy is still around and getting lots of attention. She is our only cat now. We all love her.

I got all the Easter baskets and stuff ready the night before for the girls to find on Easter morning. There are three Easter baskets: one for each of the girls and one for the girls to share.

The girls finding clues in plastic eggs to help find their Easter baskets.

After finding their baskets.

I got the girls an Easter bunny that tells the real story of Easter; he helps explain what it means. He tells about Jesus in a way the girls can understand. The bunny is sitting on the speaker. Caitie set up all the Easter bunnies and other stuffed animals and little chicks, etc., they got that morning, and she got Bailey to sit down as well, to sit and listen to the true meaning of Easter. She did this a few times that morning. She loves Jesus. :)

They went on an Easter egg hunt in the backyard...

and in the house as well. They searched for the plastic eggs with plastic jewelry and mini rubber duckies inside in the backyard, and they searched for the colored eggs inside the house, and then ate some of the colored eggs as well.

After the egg hunt, Caitie painted a cross and heart. She was remembering what the day was really about.

I got the girls matching girl/doll dresses. Caitie is really into dolls now. She wanted an American Girl doll, but they're really expensive, so with some of her birthday money, which she held on to until Spring break, she got a Journey Girls doll at Toys R Us, which was much more reasonably priced, in my opinion. I think the Journey Girls doll is much prettier than the American Girl doll, and so does Caitie. She loves the doll. She takes it everywhere she goes, she even took it to school for part of her star day presentation back in May. She and her doll wore the matching dresses that day, which her friends went crazy over. Caitie gave another doll that is similar to the American Girl and Journey Girls dolls to Bailey. She got it for Christmas from a relative a few years back. I didn't want to leave Bailey out, so I got her and the doll matching dresses as well. I mean the Easter bunny got them for the girls. ha Bailey's not as much into the doll yet, but does like to copy Caitie, so she does carry it around every now and then. They also got matching girl/doll gowns as well. Yes, I went a little overboard on the doll stuff. ha

Later that day we went for a drive in the Cadillac. We went to the lake behind our house and then to Dairy Queen.

I took a few pics of the girls by the lake. As you can see, it was late afternoon.

I took a pic of the girls with their daddy and his other baby, the caddy. ha :)

We had planned on going to Dunkin' Donuts, which we did last year, but it got late and the donut shop was closed, so we decided to go to Dairy Queen. It was a nice treat. I took a quick pic of the girls inside Dairy Queen.

We had a nice Easter, I hope y'all did too. :)
