What happens in Vegas...

...well, you know the saying... for most it's probably true, what happens should stay there... but when you have kids along, and you try hard to do only the things that are appropriate for kids, you find there are actually a few things that aren't so bad that happen in Vegas. And so the story goes...

Waaaaayyyyyy back in December 2014 (yes, i'm that far behind in blogging) we went to Las Vegas. We went there over Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate mine and Michael's 25th wedding anniversary. We went as a family. The girls had been wanting to see the 'pretty lights', so off we went. We left the day after Thanksgiving.

Here are some pics...

We started the trip at Discount Tire near where we live; we had some tires replaced on our SUV before the long drive.

I took some pics from the SUV when we got to The Strip. I took this pic of the Paris Hotel/Casino the night we got there...

This pic is out of order, but I wanted to show it after the night shot of the same hotel/casino. I took this pic the next day.

Back to the night we arrived in Las Vegas. We Checked into the hotel. We stayed at the Four Queens Hotel/Casino on the Old Strip (on fremont street).

This guy was very friendly. ha We were right outside the gambling area. As you can probably tell, he had a bit to drink, and had probably been having fun gambling. I like Bailey's cute reaction to the attention.

Here was the view from our hotel room. The view below, and all the lights were entertaining in themselves. There were also zipliners going by. Can you see them?

Bailey loves to 'read' the Bible in hotel rooms.

I got a self-timer pic of all of us in our hotel room before heading out for the night.

I took a quick pic of the girls and their daddy in front of the hotel/casino we were staying at.

Olaf is an interesting sight in Vegas. ha I got a quick pic of Caitie with him.

We got a bite to eat before doing more 'sightseeing'.

The next morning we walked the Old Strip. We saw lots of interesting things... like the person dressed as a 'KISS' band member (think '70s and '80s here) in the background. ha

We were actually going to go in this place, but we were told only adults are allowed. They take their deep fried stuff very seriously, it seems.

After perusing some gift shops and getting a bite to eat, we headed to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. It's the one in the 'Pawn Stars' show on the History Channel. We drove there.

A pic with the pawn shop sign.

Standing in line waiting to get in the pawn shop. There was a pretty long line.

I got a pic of the girls and their daddy with the 'history expert' who gets called in a lot on the Pawn Stars show to give advice as to what something is worth. If you watch the show, you know him as Mark. He's a really nice guy, and he knows his stuff. Caitie got his autograph. I don't know who was more starstruck, the girls or their daddy. ha :)

With the crowd of people that were there, we didn't do bad on getting a good parking space... right by the entrance to the pawn shop.

I took this pic at a building near the pawn shop. I liked the paintings on the wall.

Next we went to the Fashion Show Mall on the Vegas Strip. We went in some shops to look around and do some souvenir shopping. I got a pic of the girls and their daddy looking at Vegas info books. Well, Caitie and her daddy were looking at the books, I'm not sure what Bailey was doing. ha (yes, i asked them to pose for me)

Cool shades on my cute gals...

We got a bite of dinner before heading home. We stopped at the Panda Express in the mall for some yummy Chinese food. This is where our love of the Panda Express restaurant started. We have eaten at the one near us on occasion since then.

I took this pic of the New York, New York Hotel/Casino on our way out and heading home.

I wanted to get some pics of us with the famous 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada' sign. It's been there for years. Here are the girls with their daddy.

I handed my camera over to Michael to get a pic of me and the girls with the sign.

I had this caricature made as an anniversary gift for Michael. As you probably know by now, we like the 'Pawn Stars' show on the History Channel. We don't watch it much anymore, but we did for a while when it first aired.

We had a nice time in Vegas, but we don't plan to take the girls back there anytime soon, if ever. ha It's not the best place for kids, or even adults, for that matter.
