We went to Woods Canyon Lake last Saturday. We planned to leave early morning but didn't get out of town until around 3pm, of which we had to go back to get barbecue skewers we forgot at home and stopped to get ice, so that ran us a bit behind as well. We got to the Rocky Point picnic area at Woods Canyon Lake around 7pm. The picnic area closes at 8pm. We had an hour to barbecue hot dogs and do s'mores. We barely made it. Michael was putting out the grill fire at eight on the dot. The ranger made sure of that. He came around two or three times while we were there making sure we knew closing time and to make sure the fire was put out on the grill. Caitie loved talking to him and looked forward to each time he came around. After we left the picnic area we headed to the lake store area close to the lake and told ghost stories and Caitie lit up her glow stick she got at summer camp. We headed back to town sometime between 10 and 11pm and got home around 1am, I believe. Even though it was a short trip, it was an enjoyable one; Caitie can't wait to go back. I took some pics...
This was on the way up to the lake... we had to stop due to Caitie's tummy bein' a bit upset, which was probably due to her first meal of the day bein' Pringles. I'm such a good mama... um, yeah. Everyone got out to stretch their legs and Caitie picked a few flowers, and I took some pics. I love the colors in this pic.

And this one too.

Caitie picked them for me; so sweet. :) We don't always get along, but when we do get along, she can be really sweet.

We had to make another stop along the way due to Caitie's tummy bein' upset again (i'm wondering if she might be starting to experience 'motion sickness' on long car rides. i used to be that way). We stopped at a Giant mini-mart on the outskirts of Payson to pick up some Pepto, peppermint candies and some snack food for later. I wanted to get a pic of my great talent for doing braids. Pretty, huh? Maybe I need more practice... um, yeah...

Here is the Rocky Point picnic area sign. We had a $5 dinner that evening. We were only in that area an hour... it costs $5 to get in. Ridiculous, if you ask me, or Michael, or anyone else who is sane. (not sure i qualify)

Bailey couldn't wait to get in and sink her teeth, or in this case, tooth and a half, into her bottle. She still refuses to eat solids. Michael was filling out the envelope you put the money in; it asks for license plate info, etc. I'm not sure what Caitie was doing... I think she was playing with her baby doll bottle.

The rest of the pics from here on out are somewhat 'dark' due to the sun going down, and then the sun being down and the bright moon not yet having made an appearance, until towards the end...
After such a long car ride, Bailey decided to do some stretching, which turned into push-ups. She likes to stay in shape. Actually, she's been having trouble 'pooping' and this is what she does when it's time to poop. I'm not sure if she's trying to get the poop out or keep it in due to it possibly being uncomfortable when it does come out. Either way, she's been suffering with diaper rash, or some kind of skin condition on her butt cheeks, due to this. I've taken her to the docter several times now and we have yet to figure out what's best to do. This happens all through the day; she needs some relief, and soon! I'll be taking her back to the doctor to do a suppository and help clean out the area so hopefully she can get back to 'normal pooping'.

Here are some cute pics of her... she loves bein' in the woods. There was no need for the hat, the sun was going down, but I thought it looked cute on her, and wanted her to wear it for pics.

She loves to hold things in her hands.

I put her daddy's jacket on the ground for her to sit/lay on, but she kept crawling off of it. She loves to explore.

I took lots of pics of her.

I took a few pics of Caitie as well, but as I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm trying to not take as many as I used to. Here is one of my favorites of her from the trip (my flower pics at the beginning of the post being my most favorite of her).

Barbecuin' hot dogs. These were good ones... I believe Oscar Mayer Angus Beef ones; no nitrites or nitrates... they're more on the healthy side; as much as a hot dog can be, anyway. They were juicy and very tasty! I highly recommend them. We were starving at the time though, and you know how most food tastes good, no matter what it is, when you're starving, so I'm not sure you can go by my taste buds at that time for a true recommendation. But we did have some left and put them on the bbq at home and they still tasted wonderful, so yes, I'd still say I highly recommend them. Yep, I give them three thumbs up!

Getting ready to do the s'mores. Caitie was still eating her hot dog on the skewer (which is how we ate them instead of putting them in a bun, they were good without the bun) while roasting the marshmallows; we were limited on time. Both Caitie and her daddy are good at multi-tasking, it seems.

It was getting pretty dark about this time... can you make out the roasted marshmallows in this pic? Yum!

Glow stick time. Caitie got the glow stick at summer camp last week and decided to wait and open it on our trip to the lake.

It was pretty dark until the almost full moon rose up behind these pine trees. It lit up the whole area; so pretty. It was a nice, fast-paced, trip to the lake; the 'almost camping' trip was a success.
