I just finished reading 'Gray Matter' by David Levy, MD. I loved it! It's well written, interesting, and has a wonderful message. I saw this book at Barnes & Noble quite a while ago, and considered buying it, but we were on a strict budget at the time, so I had to leave it on the shelf. I decided to see if the library had it, but they didn't. I then decided to see if I could find an inexpensive used copy, but couldn't find one that didn't charge quite a bit for shipping, so I looked for it on Google, to see if there was another bookstore that might have it on sale that didn't charge much for shipping... what I came across was the author's website. I decided to write to him and ask if he knew of a place that had an inexpensive copy of his book. I didn't expect a reply, but thought I would give it a shot. Well, a few days later, I received an e-mail letting me know he would send me a free copy of his book; he didn't even ask for postage. I was happy, to say the least. Two weeks later, the book arrived... signed. Wow! Who does that these days? The book is about how a neurosurgeon decided to start praying for his patients before surgery, and at other times, and how it transformed his life, as well as the lives of many of his patients. He also talks about forgiveness and how it can affect a person's health. He goes into detail about some of his most interesting cases, and tells touching stories about the families involved in those cases. There's so much more to this book than what I'm writing here... I highly recommend this book. You can find it at Amazon.com, just click here.
I received the book back towards the end of March... I wanted to read it as soon as I received it, of which I did read some of it, but I wasn't able to really get into it until recently, and once I did, I couldn't put it down. I took this pic of Caitie holding the book the day I received it.

Even though I'm not into getting anyone's autograph, it was nice getting a signed copy of the book.

Bailey got hold of it the day that it came... she just couldn't put it down.

Here is a video of Dr. David Levy speaking at a church in Long Beach, California. It's about an hour long. If you're not able to watch the whole video, of which I hope you can because it's all good, I suggest you at least watch from the 37:28 minute mark to around the 41:50 minute mark into the video, what he has to say about forgiveness is important, at least, for me it was. Click on the 'play' button below to view the video. If you decide to watch from the minute marks I mentioned above, just scroll the minute marker to the right until you get to that number.
