His Day, My Day

Let's start with his day... As you can see on the sign on the garage door below... well, you can't see all of it, but the part I'm talking about is where it says 'Dad's Garage'... that's a hint of what day it was... it was Father's Daddy's Day. As soon as Caitie and I saw that sign, we grabbed it, and then kept on grabbin' signs... 'Route 66' sign, a Coca-Cola sign... but we stopped there, even though we could have grabbed more. Hobby Lobby has lots of cool lookin' signs for your garage, movie room, etc.

Why did I include this pic when the one above shows basically the same thing? Well, we also got him a pair of very-much-needed Levis. All of his other pair of Levis are a little too hip lookin' for someone his age, and for someone with his mild-mannered demeanor... they have holes everywhere, and the frayed look, kinda like a rocker look, or somethin' like that... so it was time he got a new pair.

It was a relaxing day... which included swimmin'... I'm not sure where Michael went, but we sure needed him when the creature with the weird mask appeared in our pool. Yikes!

We ended the relaxing day with a relaxing ride in the ol' Caddy, of which put Bailey to sleep. I told ya it was a relaxin' day.

Now, on to my day... which was just a few days after his day...
If you keep up with my blog, you know I'm not much for birthdays, but I indulge the kiddos and go along with their thoughtfulness, and put on a cheerful smile, as much of one as I can, anyway... I don't smile much, so it's a bit of an effort for me. But I had more of a look of disbelief when I saw all the sweets as gifts; I had just started a diet a few days before. What kind of person would start a diet right before their birthday? um, yeah... Anyway... I loved the homemade card from Caitie, as well as all the other stuff, but her gift was my favorite by far. :) Speaking of Caitie, she dressed up as a princess for my birthday, which I thought was really sweet. Bailey had on her usual attire, a diaper... oh, and a hat, she did add that (love rhymes).

See below to find out why I had a look of disbelief, and a look of frustration as well... Diets are hard to start, and to keep up with, especially when you have every kind of sweets imaginable available to you. Yes, I went off my diet for a week or so, and then had to go back on it with more weight than I started with originally.

After crying and sighing with delight, of which I did at the same time, after I dug into some of the sugary goodness, it was time to head up to Woods Canyon Lake for the day.

So beautiful.

There was throwing of rocks, netting, fishing, lookin' for chipmunks to feed, etc. It was a wonderful day. Thanks, guys! :)

Yes, she's standing in the lake water.

Yes, she's carrying the fishing pole. I think Bailey has the most fun of anyone when we're at the lake. :)
