School Stuff

I know it's summertime and school is still a few weeks away... what I'm referring to are the last couple of weeks of First Grade... way back in May. I'm just now getting around to posting the few pics I have during that time. I may have missed a thing or two, but here's what I've got for now...

I thought these two school papers were cute. If you can read what's on them, you can see that Caitie loves the 'Pioneer Woman'... you know the one... she has written a few cookbooks, children's books, even her love story with her rancher husband... and she also has a show on the Food Network channel... oh, and her blog, of course... where she actually started it all. Caitie has a couple of her children's books, and I have one of her cookbooks, and her romance novel, and I record her cooking show and follow her blog. I guess I kinda like her too. ha She's quite the success story... that and living on a ranch with horses, cute dogs and cats, and a handsome cowboy husband with cute kids is what Caitie is so attracted to and why she hopes to be like her someday. Hey, it's a goal, right? um, yeah...

Caitie lost another tooth right before school let out for the summer. She only got $2 this time from the tooth fairy. She felt gipped, but she got over it. ha

Teacher Appreciation week was in May, and Caitie took something in to her teacher every day that week. Some was asked of her, some we did voluntarily. Below is what we did voluntarily. It was an apple theme, in case you couldn't tell. ha

She was asked to bring some flowers in, as well as her classmates, to put in a vase for their teacher. Her teacher had quite a mix of flowers in that one vase. She was asked to bring candy on another day, and wrote some nice things about her teacher in a journal, along with her classmates, that was given to their teacher at one of the 'year-end' parties. We gave money towards a gift card as well. Her teacher had a nice week.

Here are pics from three of her 'year-end' school parties.

Here is the last day of school, which was a half-day. Caitie took in another gift for her teacher, which we had fun shopping for. We put small things we thought her teacher would like into a beverage dispenser (i got this idea off of pinterest) along with a card. They had flagpole that morning and pretty much goofed off the rest of the time.  Caitie got her report card, which was the same as the others she received throughout the school year. She did really well; she's  ready for Second Grade. :)
