I took this pic on Saturday morning. We're not morning people, but after sleeping a bit uncomfortably the night before (think crowded bed... feet in the face, hot dog drool, turned sideways involuntarily against the trailer wall, etc... loads of fun) the morning was a welcome relief and very much desired for once. We had a champion's breakfast... donuts. That'll get ya goin' for the day... or not. This is the small kitchen area in our small trailer. We're using the small trailer until the bigger trailer is mouse-proof and inhabitable.
I've read that kids being in nature, playin' in dirt, etc., is good for them... if that's the case, Bailey had a healthy dose of dirt while at the property. Her face is clean here compared to what she looked like at the end of the day. She loves her some dirt.
I got a quick pic of Bailey with her daddy on the quad. Bailey rode with Michael and Caitie rode with me.
Caitie is getting the area set up for horseshoes as Bailey looks on.
I think there is some confusion on how horseshoes is played... it's usually minus the badminton racket and birdie. I think they were making up their own version of how to play both games together, or somethin' like that...
And then they began playing pretend sword fight. Kids and their imaginations... gotta love 'em.
I took the two pics below because I liked the lighting...
Caitie found herself a stick... yepsiree, she don't mess around when it comes to collectin' sticks... this one is taller than her. (i know it's a branch, but she called it a stick... so there ya go...)
Gotta love goin' potty out in nature. I got a similar pic of Caitie around the same age as Bailey is here while at the property. I'm sure they're going to thank me some day for taking these kinda pics.
We opened a gun/dart board set we've had for years. It's been sealed, brand new in the box, stored in the small trailer for quite a few years. Caitie kept asking us to open it so she could try it out, so we finally gave in. As you can see here, her first time shooting the dart gun and she gets the bulls eye. Beginners luck, maybe? But she did really well every time she shot at the target. She's a good marksman (or is it marksgirl? um, yeah...) It was interesting how it was cloudy for most of the time we did this, but when she got her bulls eye, the sun came out and was pretty bright in this one area, kinda like marking the occasion... or somethin' like that. um, yeah... anyhoo...
The girls were really into pretend sword fighting that day... I believe they were using stakes that were for the badminton net. They did this when it was mine and their daddy's turn to shoot the dart gun. We took turns for quite a while... until it started getting dark. It was fun.
Here is Michael helping Bailey take aim at the target.
Here he is helping Caitie as well. She did some on her own as well.
It is now Sunday. We're getting ready to ride the quads again.
Michael took some pics of me and Caitie riding on my quad.
The girls love farm/construction equipment. Bailey loved being in the driver's seat.
Caitie tried out this contraption.
"Moo"
I always have to get a pic of a cow or two if we're so lucky to come across them while we're there. I took this on our way out. Nice pose, don't ya think?
I had a nice birthday. :)
