Lazy and Stressed

Every year is the same... I stress both myself and Caitie out on school picture day (portrait and class pics). I have rules and instructions for her to follow. There is to be no 'rough play' before picture time; she is not to touch her face or hair; she is to put her hair behind her shoulders before they snap the pics, and she is to try and smile naturally instead of having a forced smile. I think I'm pretty much asking the impossible from an eight year old, knowing that most likely I'm causing her anxiety, but ask I do; poor thing. I hope it went well.

I should have combed her hair out more, but I was afraid of losing the curls. I should have cleaned her face better; I noticed a dry spot under her nose that I tried to fix when dropping her off at school, while a teacher was waiting to close and lock the gate. It probably ended up red and irritated due to doing it in a hurry. I redid her barrettes from the way they show in the below pic; I put her hair back more... too far back, I'm a thinkin'. Why do I do this every year? Why do I stress so? Am I a 'Type A' personality? If you saw my house right now, you wouldn't think so. It's quite messy, and not organized at all, which does bother me... a lot. Is there such a thing as a 'Lazy Type A' personality?

I'll be picking Caitie up from school soon... I shall see how many curls she has left, and if her nose area is red and irritated, and get a better look at the way I placed her barrettes this morning, I had to do it in a hurry... I'm hoping they're to my liking. I guess I had better get off here and try to clean up a few things before heading out, or maybe I'll get to it later, even though it does make me feel awful at the moment. Yep, I'm a 'Lazy Type A' personality, alright.

Here's a pic I took of her before leaving for school this morning...
