Rounding third and heading for fourth

Normally that would be "Rounding third and heading for home" (as in baseball), but I'm using it to tell about Caitie's third grade experience (her first day anyway), even though she is now already in fourth grade (she started yesterday). Does that make sense? I didn't think so. Moving on now... This post goes back to Monday, August 11, 2014, Caitie's first day of third grade.

I took the traditional 'first day of school at the front door pic'.

Another pic with her sister, who doesn't look too happy about it.

We were late as usual, and had to walk a couple of blocks to the school due to no parking available at the school due to every parent in America being at the school that day, at least it felt that way anyway, and we missed the flagpole ceremony yet again. We had a lot to carry... Caitie's backpack, which I carried in, had all her personal supplies for the school year, and Caitie and I also carried classroom supplies as well. That was a long way to walk, with a lot to carry, on a very hot morning. Playing the violin for us yet? ha

We finally made it inside the cool building.

I took a quick pic of Caitie in her classroom before leaving.

Bailey and I walked by the spring in front of the school to see the ducks before walking the long trek back to the truck. Bailey was missing her best bud.

Picking Caitie up after school. Bailey feels better now that big sis is out of school.

The girls thought of one thing only when we got home... jumping in the cool pool water.

They enjoyed a late afternoon of swimming.

This was the view from the pool before the girls headed in for dinner. Beautiful. It was a nice way to end the day. :)

Stay tuned... there's more to come about Caitie's third grade experience.
