Caitie's Grand Adventure (in progress)

Caitie is at the Grand Canyon today.  All of the fourth grade went there on a field trip today.  I had to have her at the school by 5:45am this morning; this was after her chorus concert last night, so she didn't get to bed as soon as I wanted her to for her early departure this morning.  I was going to let Bailey sleep in this morning since her daddy was still in bed and didn't have to be at work until around 7am, but she decided right before Caitie and I were ready to leave that she wanted to come along, so off we went, all three of us.  The buses, which are really nice buses, they're touring buses, were there waiting when we got there.  Three large buses in all.  It was really nice out (bailey and i went to the park afterwards).  Anyway, they all got off safely; they left around 6am.

We got Caitie a cell phone to take along on the trip so we can keep in touch and she can call when they're getting close to home later tonight, which should be around 10:30pm or so.  We are to pick her up from school when they get back from the Grand Canyon.  She has already sent me some pics from the trip that she took with her cell phone.  Here is one from the train station in Williams; she's with her friend. They're taking a train to the Grand Canyon from there.

I enjoy getting text messages from her to my e-mail, and I love receiving the pics she's taking along the way.  I might post more pics here throughout the day.  :)

I'm back to post a couple more pics...

Here are a couple of pics that Caitie took of the Grand Canyon.  As you can see, the pics are 'cold' instead of 'warm', there is a blue tint to them.  This isn't her fault, she had the white balance on 'daylight' since it was sunny, which was correct, the problem is the camera quality; we got her a basic cell phone, so the camera quality isn't the best.  But the pics themselves are good; she did well with the composition.  That's my gal.  :)

Caitie is back from her field trip now... she, her classmates, and teachers, got back safe and sound around 10pm.  She had a good time.  :)
