Duck Soup?

On our way home from an errand the other day, Caitie took notice of the ducks on the lake near our house. After a quick stop at home to get bread and crackers, and my camera, we headed back to the lake where we were greeted by a swarm of ducks... very hungry ducks! We could hardly get out of the truck there were so many ducks gathered at the door. Caitie didn't mind that we could barely move an inch without the ducks doing the same; they followed us everywhere we went. It was quite a scene, I'm sure... a woman with a camera leading a group of ducks with a little girl in the middle of it all. The ducks had surrounded Caitie. She seemed a bit nervous at first, but she warmed up to them, and helped feed them, until one of them bit her hand with its bill; she was a bit skittish after that, but not scared. I guess upon seeing this 'spectical', a man in a work truck decided to stop and take a pic with his camera phone, and other people out for a walk would stop to watch. I tried getting pics of Caitie being surrounded by the ducks, but every time I would take a few steps forward to take a pic, the whole group would follow me. So I had to settle on some quick pics in between feeding the ducks, which would disperse for a bit until the feeding frenzy would resume at the toss of a piece of bread. After the struggle of trying to get a few pics, I realized that my camera had been on the wrong setting the whole time. I wasn't too happy about that, but decided to display a few of the pics here anyway. When we got home, it was time for lunch. I asked Caitie if she wanted soup for lunch, she nodded, I then asked her what kind of soup she wanted, she said "duck soup". Oh dear...
