Caitie: The end of summer

As far as summertime activities, anyway; school starts next Monday. Summer camp ended a week ago. Caitie enjoyed most of it; there were a couple of 'incidents' that weren't all that pleasant... such as spending the night at Mendy's Place (hospital) due to falling while at camp, and missing out on a much anticipated field trip (these two incidents were mentioned in previous posts), but all in all, she had a good time at summer camp. She also enjoyed a couple of our one-day camping trips (i posted about one of them; the other trip will be in an upcoming post), and she enjoyed spending some time in the water. I took a few pics of Caitie and Bailey enjoying a dip in the pool, and a few pics of Caitie's last couple of days at summer camp...

Here's Caitie and Bailey splashing around in a relative's swimming pool a few weeks back. Both girls have been in pools before, but not one this big. Caitie wore a life jacket at first, but eventually took it off. Here she's wearing it while holding onto the pool ladder; Bailey was having fun playing in the water (her daddy was holding her tight).

Caitie wasn't wearing the life jacket in this pic. As you can see, Bailey wasn't too happy; she was out of her comfort zone, which was out of mine and her daddy's arms.

I took this pic last week when picking Caitie up from summer camp; I was wanting a pic of Caitie's new car seat. Ain't it purty? As you can see, she wasn't too thrilled to be posing for a pic, she was wanting to get back to playing a game on her Nintendo.

I took this pic a couple of weeks back before taking Caitie to summer camp; she was going on a field trip that day. Her group went to see a movie, The Zookeeper. There were a couple of other field trips during the second part of summer camp as well; they went to see another movie, Cars 2, and another time they got to tour and eat at a Mexican restaurant. There were two other field trips planned, one to the Challenger Space Center, which is in town, in case you're wondering, and an activity center located near Lake Pleasant, but both of those field trips were cancelled. I was looking forward to her going to the Challenger Space Center, I wanted to know what it's like... oh well.

I took this pic a week ago Monday; it was Ms. K's (one of caitie's 'teachers' for the second half of summer camp; the last five weeks) last day. This was the only day Caitie wore a dress to summer camp, she most always wore shorts and a shirt; she did have shorts on under the dress. There was a face painter there that day; Caitie was painted as a cat, in case you couldn't tell... um, yeah...

I took this pic a week ago last Tuesday; it was Ms. Wendy's and Ms. B's (caitie's other two 'teachers' for the second half of summer camp; the last five weeks) last day. On the last two days of summer camp, last Wednesday and Thursday, Mrs. Tammy and Mrs. Renae were there (i took a pic of them with caitie on the last day of school, which i included in a previous post). They were the two 'teachers' in charge of Caitie's group at the beginning of summer camp (the first five weeks).

I took this pic on her last day of summer camp, after her Kindergarten Screening, which went well; she ended up with the teacher we really like. I'll write more on that in an upcoming post.

Summertime wasn't all fun, I did give her 'lessons' occasionally to help her remember all she learned in Pre-K, and to refresh her memory on the stuff I taught her during that time as well. Here she's writing the letters of the alphabet in all caps and small letters; she did the big J backwards, so I asked her to write her big and little J's over again.
