A blonde moment
It was an easy-going afternoon when all of a sudden Caitie came running into the kitchen to show me her hand. She had just been coloring so I thought she wanted me to wipe some ink off her hand; this is a normal occurrence. I got a wet paper towel and attempted to wipe the ink off, but it wouldn't budge. I told her it was all right for now and that we would try to get it off later. She looked upset but walked away anyway, but it wasn't long before she was back showing me her hand again. This time I noticed the ink was moving... how odd, I thought. I rubbed it with my finger and noticed that it was wet and that it smeared... and it was red. It finally dawned on me what it was... her first paper cut. I felt awful! I had rubbed her skin raw trying to get what I thought was an ink mark off, but I tried to make it all better by putting a 'Pablo' band-aid on it. Now she goes around saying "paper cut" and "band-aid" all day. At least she's not going around saying "mama is a blonde", of which I would deserve. An ink mark, yeah, right... smart thinkin' there, Lesa. ha
She even told the cat about it. The cat has no respect for me now.
