We went to Payson and Woods Canyon Lake on my birthday. The weather was gorgeous! It was so nice breathing in fresh air with the scent of pine, and looking up at the tall pine trees surrounding us, and then looking over at the beautiful lake. We went on a long hike and had a picnic. It was a really nice trip. I want to go back ASAP!
Here are some pics I took with my new camera...
When we got to the hotel, Caitie wanted to walk the grounds. There was a swimming pool not too far from our room, so we walked over to it, but it was closed for the night. Caitie noticed a beach ball in the pool and was adamant about getting it. That wasn't possible, so we went to Wal-Mart and got her the same kind of beach ball, which made her happy. She's training us well. ha

Caitie loves dinosaurs, and I love these pj's. They were in the boys clothes section at Target. Some of her clothes comes from the boys section.

We went to Del Taco in Payson to get a snack, then went on a long drive to try and get Caitie to sleep for the night. We had a close call with an Elk that ran across our path. It was a long night; we didn't end up getting to bed until around 4am.

I took this pic when we first got to the lake. We went over to the boating dock to look at some crawdads in the lake.

That's one big crawdad!

Caitie is browsing the candy section at the Woods Canyon Lake convenience store. This is a quaint little store that offers fishing, cooking, and camping equipment, toys for kids, toiletries, food and drinks, and the usual touristy stuff like t-shirts and hats, of which we bought a cute t-shirt for Caitie. This pic was taken with no flash, in a dimly lit area that had an odd color cast, which made setting the white balance difficult, but it turned out to be a pretty decent pic, in my opinion.

I took this pic when leaving the store. I noticed how the 'old couple' in the boat was framed nicely by the tree limbs.

I had the most fun taking pics of some cute chipmunks that came up to us while we were snacking on some cheetos, chips, and ice cream. They ate whatever we threw on the ground. Michael even fed some of the chipmunks by hand. Don't worry, there was no need for rabies shots; he didn't get bit.

Here are some pics I took of Caitie while hiking a trail near the lake. It's tradition now for me to take a pic or two of her sitting on a log while hiking this particular trail.

Here's the t-shirt we got her at the store by the lake.
