The Three P's

Park

We went to the mountain park in the late afternoon on Wednesday for a quick hike. The sun was just starting to go down, there was a nice breeze, the temperature was just right; it was a lovely time for a hike, of which we enjoyed. Caitie does well on hikes. She wants to keep going, even when she sees me and Michael with our tongues hanging out, grabbing on to whatever is nearby for support(a saguaro cactus is not the best thing to hold on to, by the way), pleading with her to take a break; just a short break, that's all we ask for. But she heads onward, and so do we, reluctantly. But we end up being glad we 'went the extra mile', literally, because we actually do feel good afterwards; after the collapse and resuscitation is over, that is.

Playground

Caitie and I went to the playground at the park nearby on Friday afternoon. I must have been out of my mind, we practically melted on the walk home. Talk about hot! I think it only got up to 95 degrees on Friday, but it felt more like that hot day way back in '93, I believe it was, or somewhere around in there, when it got up to 120 degrees. There are other people out there as crazy as I am; a mother and her two daughters, and a LOT of teens, decided to enjoy the heat as well. I hope this makes sense, I think I'm still recovering from heat exhaustion. Oh wait, I'm like this all the time, never mind.

We had a picnic at the lake before heading to the playground.

The toddler swings were in the sun, so I got on this swing and put her on my lap, of which we ended up sticking together from all the sweat. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that part. ha

As you can see here, my melting comment was true. Poor thing.

Pink

Later on Friday afternoon, I gave Caitie a bath and put this pretty pink dress on her; well, I shouldn't take all the credit, Michael helped me get her in the dress. After her bath she fell asleep in her towel, which happens on occasion, so when it came time to dress her, it was like trying to put a sack of flour into the dress, she didn't want to have anything to do with it, she wanted to continue sleeping on my shoulder. But we did manage to get her dressed. In order to distract her from trying to go back to sleep, I let her pick out a marker from the drawer for her to use to draw with. BIG MISTAKE! It was a PERMANENT marker. Yes, my friends, this is the idiot mother here not thinking before doing. I'm sure you can guess what happened... she now has a nice black mark on her pretty pink dress. Banging my head against the desk just thinking about it. Anyway, all is well now, except for my attempt at trying to find some potion to help get rid of that small, but so noticable on a pink dress, black mark. *sigh* The black mark doesn't show on the pics below, it's on the lower part of her dress.
