On Day Three, Tuesday, September 9, Caitie's birthday, we went to the Disney California Adventure Park.
Dreaming of Disneyland, no doubt. So cute.

Caitie is planning our day at the California Adventure Park. She's picking out the places she wants to go.

We just arrived at the park, and we're already taking a break. ha We're trying to decide where to eat.

As soon as Caitie saw the huge ferris wheel, she wanted to go on it.

On our way to eat. Michael is pointing something out...

Here's what he was pointing at; Caitie loves dinosaurs.

Here we are on the ferris wheel; this is the first ride of the day. It was the longest line we had to wait in. Someone got sick in one of the cars, and it had to be cleaned up. I've been on this ride before, a few years back, and let me tell ya, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I decided to be daring and get in one of the cars that slides back and forth as the ride goes round; it feels like you're going to fall off, and this happening when way up high didn't go over too well with me, I panicked. So this time around, we got in one of the stationary cars. We all enjoyed the ride.

Caitie is looking way down...

Here is some of what we saw... the roller coaster, which was being worked on at that time, but was running later in the day.

Another carousel ride, but this time it was sea creatures. Caitie preferred the horses at Disneyland. At least we didn't have to go on this ride over and over again like we did on the carousel ride at Disneyland. ha

When I saw this billboard, I had to get a shot of Caitie next to it. She really does resemble the coppertone baby.

We're on the 'ladybug' ride; it's like the teacup ride at Disneyland.

I don't remember the name of this ride, but it takes you up and around like you're flying, and then back down again. There wasn't much to it, but Caitie enjoyed it. As soon as we got off, we went back in line to get on again. There was hardly any waiting to get on the kiddie rides, which was nice.

Here is what it looks like.

Dad getting the Birthday Girl a Mickey Mouse balloon. He knows how much she loves balloons.

She gave Mickey a kiss.

I thought this was a balanced and colorful shot. ha

Admiring her balloon.

One of my favorite rides at California Adventure is 'Soarin' Over California', it's one of Michael's favorites too, but we didn't get to go on it this time, Caitie didn't meet the height requirement, but we did go to the shop associated with the ride. It's a neat store. Caitie likes planes and things.

This is some kind of fog machine. It's like a huge mister that kids can play under. I thought it would make an interesting pic.

This is later in the day at the same spot we took a picture at earlier in the day. Does that make sense? ha

Here is the entrance to our hotel, it's connected to the park. That was nice; we didn't have to walk very far to get to our room.

We decided to go to our room before heading over to Disneyland(we got there an hour before closing, so we didn't get to do much). Caitie found more chocolate mint candies on her pillow; the maid left them there for us each night.

In the previous post there's a picture of letters that spell out 'California', the letters are at the front entrace to the park. In the pics below you'll see Caitie posing next to some of those letters. I had planned to get her with every letter, but she fell about halfway through and banged her head. She was pretty upset after that, so I didn't get a chance to finish taking pics with all the letters. I decided to put a few of the pics below, and spell out one of her favorite things...

After she fell, we headed over to Downtown Disney and went into the 'World of Disney' store and got her some Mickey lollipops, that cheered her up a bit. I got a pic of this contraption that was hanging on the ceiling.

This is a lousy pic, I was in a hurry when I took it, that's why it's crooked(Michael was getting tired of posing for pics. ha). But I had to include it. I love this store! It's one of those 'feel good' kinda stores. It made me feel the way the Wal-Mart in Payson, Dillard's, and Kohl's, make me feel; I loved being there, and didn't want to leave. Michael had mentioned several times how he thought I would like that store, but I kept passing on it, until that night, I'm glad he convinced me to go in. This woman takes wonderful pics of babies, and the baby dolls they sell are adorable! I just love, love, love this store; I wish they had one here in the valley. I doubt it would have the same feel though, there's something magical about anything that has to do with Disney, but it would still be nice to have a store nearby. Here is her website: Anne Geddes ... Be sure and check it out!

This is a baby's room at the back of the store. Caitie loved it! She didn't want to leave. She liked the store as much as I did.

As soon as she saw this little baby, she had to hold it. She fell in love with it, and so did I. It comes in a beige-colored egg.

Is this cute, or what?

Michael got me a baby doll just like the one above. That made my day. :) I may give it to Caitie. The reason I'm hesitating is because she's a bit rough with her toys and I don't want anything to happen to the doll. We'll see.

We had a reservation at the Rainforest Cafe at 10pm. We went to the hotel to drop off our stuff and then headed over to the restaurant.

This is a really cool restaurant. It looks like a jungle, and every so often a thunderstorm occurs... lightning and thunder, not actual rain, but that would have been nice. We all enjoyed our dinner. Good food, good service, and great ambiance.

When the waitress found out it was Caitie's birthday, she and a couple of other people brought her a special treat, yummy ice cream with a birthday candle, and sang happy birthday to her. She was a little embarrassed, but she liked the attention. The lady in this pic, I wish I could remember her name, did a great job serving us. We gave her a nice tip, and told her thank you, but it didn't seem like enough. She was really nice and treated us well. Great Service!!!

I used a nighttime setting here, and in the pic above, that's why they look blurry; I'm not used to that setting. I should have stuck to using the flash. I don't like using the flash, I hardly ever do, but sometimes it's best to.

I took this pic as we were leaving, I didn't get a chance to when we were going in. The entrance to the restaurant is a big fish tank.

We're back at our hotel room for the night; Caitie is unlocking the door.

Here she is with Nemo and Minnie Mouse; we got her those for her birthday. We wanted her to have something to open on her birthday. She'll get her other gifts on Monday night.

She went to bed with her three buddies... Minnie, Nemo, and Little Caitie(that's what we named the baby doll. ha).
