Love Dare

Have you seen the movie Fireproof? It stars Kirk Cameron. You may remember him from Growing Pains days. That was a sitcom he starred in back in the mid 80's. His story is an interesting one. Most interesting to me is how he handled Christianity in the beginning and how his growth in Christ has changed how he handles it now. He lives a life of integrity, which is inspiring. Some of the people that starred in the movie aren't actors, but wanted to make a contribution and were cast in the movie. Don't look for an oscar performance here, but do look for the message the movie is meant to convey. The production company, Sherwood Pictures, made two other movies: Flywheel and Facing the Giants. Both good and clean movies. Again, they're not known for the acting, and the storylines are predictable, but they do have a message and make you think, and are a breath of fresh air when it comes to seeing a decent movie these days. I didn't see Fireproof when it came out in theaters back in September, but I did get the DVD, and the book that goes along with it called Love Dare. I'm in the process of reading the book now. If you need to work on your marriage, or if you just want to make it stronger and make sure it stays on solid ground, check out this movie and the book, and take the dare.

Kirk Cameron, along with his wife Chelsea Noble, has also starred in the Left Behind movies. The movies are based on the Left Behind books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Here's a little movie trivia for ya: Kirk Cameron insisted his wife be the stand-in for the final scene in Fireproof. It was a kissing scene. Once he got married(in real life), he vowed to never kiss another woman other than his wife; this says a lot coming from an actor. That's integrity.
