Park Pals - Part Two

These pics were taken at the newfound park on March 10th. I'm still getting caught up on posting some of her park pics. You'll notice Caitie wearing jeans and a sweatshirt; I thought it was a bit nippy out, but once we were at the park, it warmed up.

I mentioned in my last post that I don't like taking pics of other parents' kids, but this time was the exception; I took quite a few pics, but unfortunately, I used my point and shoot camera and they came out awful... I mean really awful... blurry, grainy, dark, bright, etc. But I wanted to post them because the friends Caitie made on this park excursion were really, really sweet and I like most of the pics compositions, so I decided to use Photoshop to decolorize them to help with the graininess and add a little nostalgic look to them, and made them into scrapbook pages to help add a little something to them. We got to the park at the same time the other kids arrived. Caitie had a little trouble warming up to them at first, but once the little girl in the green top and jeans made her way over to Caitie and started playing, they became fast friends, as did the girl's little sister and baby brother. They all had a lot of fun. There was one incident, however, when I was pushing Caitie on one swing and the little girl Caitie's age came up and asked to be put in the other swing, of which I obliged. Her grandmother thanked me for doing this. As always, Caitie asked to go higher, and then the other little girl asked to go higher, so I pushed her higher as well, but when her grandmother came over to watch, the little girl flung forward suddenly, not sure why, and almost fell out of the swing. I panicked on the inside, but tried to keep a calm demeanor so the other kids wouldn't start flipping out. Not too long after this incident the grandmother decided to take her grandkids to another park nearby; at least, that's what she said. Yes, my friends, I'm the park mother from heckaroonies, to use a child-friendly term. ha When it was time to go, everyone hugged and didn't want to part. Such sweet kids. The little girl involved in the swinging incident came over to me before they left and smiled at me and said bye. I felt better knowing everything was all right. Here are just a few of the many pics I took; these are the only ones that turned out halfway decent. (click on the scrapbook pages below to see a larger version which will help you see more detail.)
