Princess Leah and Homemade Salsa

Michael got a recipe from a family member recently for homemade salsa; we couldn't wait to try it out. We did a little tweaking and added a couple of things that weren't on the ingredients list. It's a little on the spicy side, but oh so yummy. Here's the recipe; you may want to tweak it to suit your taste.

Princess Leah? (if you're a star wars fan, you get this.) She has a hankerin' for salsa.

So let's make some...

Put the following ingredients in the food processor:

1 Large Can Whole Tomatoes (29 ounce can)
Handful of fresh cilantro to taste
1 Small Can of Herdez Jalepeno Pepper & Onion
1 Small Can El Pato Sauce (to suit taste; this is spicy) **

Pulse the above

Then add the following:

1 small white or yellow onion, or quarter of an average sized onion
2 fresh yellow peppers **

Pulse the above

Then add the following:

1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic (ready chopped in jar)
Salt for taste

Do one final pulse. Then call the fire department, because you're gonna need 'em after you take a bite!

Yields about six cups.

** Michael added these ingredients. If you want to stick to the original recipe, just omit these ingredients.

She's 100% Natural.

We got a Kitchenaid Food Processor (ain't it purty?); it does up to 3 cups at a time, so we did two batches.

A future Rachael Ray? She's a natural.

This is how it looks after the last pulsing.

My job was to take pics, and help out by chopping the onion and prepping the cilantro. I also prepared a bowl/plate of chips and the yummy homemade salsa. I come in handy occasionally.

It looked so good even Holly-Hoo couldn't wait to try it. She loves Mexican food; long story (this may become a future post. i bet you can't wait).
