5
Caitie turned five today. This age is more noticable to me; not that I didn't take notice of when she turned 1, 2, 3, and 4, but her turning 5 really stands out. Maybe it's because I have a newborn again and I notice how much Caitie has really grown. The pic below, which I took on a recent photoshoot, shows about 70% of her personality; she loves to joke around and be silly, which brings about smiles and laughter. Here are some other things I've taken notice of: she's a talker; she can talk your head off, but becomes shy at times depending on who's around and how well she knows a person. Michael and I aren't real talkative, so I haven't a clue where she gets that from... must be from her Nannie and/or her paternal grandmother; they love to talk. As I just mentioned, she loves to joke around, this, I believe, comes from her maternal grandfather, which she called Gramps. She likes to clean, just like her Nana. She takes an interest in how things work, and she enjoys making contraptions... this comes from her daddy; she thinks a lot like he does. She reminds me of other family members as well, but the ones I just mentioned stand out the most to me. I can take credit for her blonde hair (my hair used to be a light blonde; really it was), blue eyes and fair skin; I can also take credit for her love of animals, I had a lot of stuffed animals as a youngster, just as she does now. Oh, and... she does have a temper; I won't say where I think she got that from. If you're thinking it could be you, you're probably right. Yeah, it's all your fault she has a temper... I'll let you take credit for that. Thanks a lot! ahem... Anyway... here are a few things she loves: school, animals (stuffed or real), movies (mostly about dogs, real or animated), cartoons, playing dog, being held, silly dancing, joking around, tea parties, traveling, Disneyland, rides, and halloween. Here are a few things she can't stand: baths/showers, certain bugs (mostly spiders and bees), eating (she would go without food and drink chocolate milk all the time if we'd let her), picking up her toys, and she's afraid of the dark. There are other things she likes and dislikes, but the above is what comes to mind at the moment. From what I've observed over the last five years, I think she'll become either a lawyer, inventor, or veterinarian when she grows up. She makes a good argument, I can never win, she's just too good; she likes making contraptions and has an interest in how things work; she loves animals and likes to pretend she's a veterinarian. We have our differences, and we don't always get along, but she's still my beautiful, talented, smart little gal... I may be biased, but that's how I see her... Happy 5th Birthday, Caitie! :)
