There were two birthday cakes, both were custom orders from a Wal-Mart bakery. The first one had the Toy Story theme (from the movie), this one I took to her classroom celebration, the second one had a dog theme; she loves dogs, and several of her gifts were dog related. I took a quick pic of Caitie and her Toy Story cake before heading into her classroom. I didn't think to get a pic once it was out of the box.

I talked with her teacher early in the week to find out what was allowed and what was appropriate for a classroom celebration. From what we discussed, I decided on a cupcake cake, noise blowers, and asked that all the kids and teachers yell "surprise" when Caitie walked in the classroom. It worked for the most part... you know how little kids are, they're asked to do something, and when the time comes to do it, they're like "huh?", "what?", and have confused looks on their faces, this is pretty much what happened, except a few did blow their noise makers, and after a brief reminder of what they were supposed to do, they finally yelled "surprise". Caitie looked a bit uncomfortable from all the attention, but at the end of the school day, she was one happy little girl. I took several pics, but most were blurry, including this one, but I wanted to share at least one pic from her classroom. There are more kids than are showing in this pic, I didn't have my wide-angled lens with me, so I was limited on how much I could get into a pic.

After school we headed over to see Caitie's great-grandmother Nannie. We visited for a bit, Caitie opened her gift, and then we headed home to get ready to head to the pizza place.

Here's the dog theme cake we took to the pizza place; I got a pic of it earlier in the day. See anything missing?

Here's the forgotten candle. We celebrated her birthday with family at Peter Piper Pizza. We ended up being at the pizza place until closing; this happens every year. We had to rush things, and in doing so, I didn't have time to put the candle on the cake. Caitie didn't notice since all she was interested in were the presents she had just opened.

Here are a few pics of the fun things there are to do at the pizza place. She still loves the carousel.

And the 'play gym', or whatever you want to call it.

This is the cockpit of an airplane at the top of the 'play gym'.

Yes, I used flash in some of the pics this time. I had to at the pizza place; I've tried going without flash there, but the pics never turn out, they're always dark and blurry, so I decided a flash pic is better than no pic at all. I also used flash in the pic of Caitie and Bailey with their great-grandmother Nannie. The lighting wasn't very good, so decided using a flash was best. I'm not fond of using flash, but sometimes there's no way around it.
