Today was Caitie's last day of school; she did well in Pre-K and will be in Kindergarten come mid-August; she's looking forward to it. She'll be in 'extended stay' Kindergarten, which means she'll go all day; from 9am to 3:30pm. Before registering her for Kindergarten, I thought it was all-day, I found out that you have to pay for 'extended stay'; there are also morning and afternoon slots as well, just like Pre-K, which doesn't cost anything. For Pre-K she was part-time, going from 1pm to 3:30pm. We planned on her going full-time for Pre-K, but I waited until the last minute to get her registered, and all that was left were afternoons. She would go in the mornings on occasion, mostly when there were special events, so she's done both morning and afternoon classes, but she hasn't gone a full day yet. I did plan to put her full-time after the Christmas holiday, but chose not to. Her teacher said she would make an exception for Caitie and let her attend all day, even though there wasn't a slot at the time to do so, but I chose not to, I didn't feel she was ready yet. Mostly due to her eating habits and dealing with lunch, and having to go potty when I'm not around. She goes potty on her own, of course, but I usually help out with cleaning after she goes #2; or maybe it was more my not wanting her gone for that long, and I used those as the excuses. Sad, I know. But she will be going full-time come August, and I need to get used to it. She'll be attending Summer Camp at the same school, and have the same teachers she had for Pre-K for the first half of the summer, new teachers take over for the second half of the summer. There are a lot of neat activities going on, and field trips, and such. I'll tell you more about it in a future post.
I, of course, had to take some pics of her last day of school... here are a few...
I got a pic of her with her teachers, Mrs. Tammy on the left, and Mrs. Renae on the right. Mrs. Tammy is the main teacher, she loves to talk and is more on the gruff side, I'll say, but she's really nice. Mrs. Renae is sweet and really nice, she seems to really care about the kids. Caitie likes them both.

Yes, I made Caitie pose again, as I did in most of these pics... I know... shame on me, but it couldn't be helped, it was a special occasion. I took this pic at our usual spot in the school parking lot; this is where I took most of her school event pics. I would get a pic of her with whatever she got on a special event day. As you can see, it was quite windy. The parking lot was packed, every student must have attended, which I didn't expect since it was the last day of school, and it was a short day.

Just showing that Bailey came along for the ride, as she always did when taking Caitie to school. She enjoyed walking Caitie to class and seeing the school campus and all the kids.

Here's what was in the gift bag Caitie received on her last day of school... the school mascot, a leopard (which she already has, this makes #2), a sweet note from the teachers, and a yellow lei, which went well with the yellow shirt she wore. And she got a 'Promotion Certificate', saying she's ready for Kindergarten.

I, of course, had to torture the poor thing by making her pose yet again with her sister and her giftbag/certificate.

Here's the leopard and sweet note. I felt nostalgic and was wishing the school year wasn't over; I got used to the routine and like the teachers and kids in Caitie's class. She'll be seeing some of her classmates at Summer Camp, and her teachers as well, but it's not the same. *sniff*

To celebrate, we went to one of Caitie's favorite places... Peter Piper Pizza. It was crowded when we first arrived; there were a couple of birthday parties going on, and lots of kids runnin' around, some of the families were probably there for the same reason we were, a last day of school celebration. I got most of the pics right before leaving, which was near closing time, there weren't as many people around then.
This is one game you should never stop and play, but with all those pretty balls, who could resist? And, the last time Michael played it, he actually got a ball. Grabbidy-grab games aren't worth the money, or in this case, a ticket, you never win. That one time was the exception. Michael tried again tonight, and we ended up with nothing. There didn't seem to be as as many balls in there this time though, so they weren't stacked as high, and that may have been why. Who knows.

My cute gals on a dragon ride.

My cute girls and their daddy on the carousel; Caitie still loves carousels, Bailey doesn't seem to care one way or the other. She didn't smile, she didn't cry... not sure what she thinks of it.

Cute and handsome... so sweet.

Caitie loves to climb in this contraption... and slide down in every way imaginable. I thought this was the best pic to end this post with, it says to me... 'it was a long year, and I loved it, but I'm spent!' ha :)

Congrats, Caitie! You did great! :)
