We went to Mexico...

over the weekend... well, sorta. We went to the Phoenix Zoo on Saturday; it was cloudy and a bit humid, and it sprinkled as we were leaving, it was a perfect day for a visit to the zoo. We went through a faux Mexico city while at the zoo. It actually looked pretty authentic. Michael was impressed and even suggested we do the same thing at our place up north. I didn't ask him how we would accomplish this, I know how his mind works, and I can't keep up with it. ha Anyway, here are a few pics from our visit to the zoo...

If I remember correctly, these first two pics are similar to pics I took from our trip to the zoo in February. The area the giraffes and the ostrich are located at is right by the snack area and the carousel, which is a popular area, and near the entrance to the zoo; it's one of the better locations to get decent pics. That's why you'll probably see giraffe and ostrich pics on every zoo post and not so many pics of the many other animals at the zoo, although, I do include pics of other animals on occasion, such as the adorable tortoise and elephant pics below.

Healthy eater.

Thankful.

You can see the love...

This fountain was located at the faux Mexico city. Caitie loved it, and preferred to stay and play in the water than to go on more carousel rides; that's saying a lot, she's addicted to the carousel.

Everyone is viewing the cute elephant, well, everyone except the guy looking at me, I think he's flattered the camera is aimed his way. ha

Caitie finally gave in and left the water fountain and rode the carousel before closing. She rode it once when we arrived as well; she rode it three times in all.

I like to browse the gift shop before heading out. As soon as we entered the gift shop Caitie was grabbing every stuffed animal in sight; she couldn't decide which one she wanted, and ended up wanting them all. We have to really watch her now, to make sure she doesn't grab something small and take it out of the store without paying for it. She has shoplifted(unknowingly) twice, once at Wal-Mart, and while we were at the gift shop. We didn't realize either time until we were in the truck, or at home. While at Wal-Mart she put a small bottle of baking sprinkles in Michael's shirt pocket, of which he keeps everything but the kitchen sink in, so he didn't notice until we got home. She then took some candy from the gift shop. We don't know how she did it, we think she put it in a purse we bought for her at the gift shop, and it wasn't noticed until we got to the truck. That's our story, and we're stickin' to it. ha

I took this pic when we left the zoo and were on the freeway. I like the cityscape silhouette.

After we got home, we decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner. I changed Caitie into this cute buzzing bee dress. She was telling Molly all about her trip to the zoo, about the jaguar she saw, etc.
