The man of the Potter Drive house put on his makeshift galoshes and headed out into dangerous territory... the back patio. He put a small utility pump on the patio and hooked the backyard hose up to it to help clear the patio of flood water caused by the steady rain we received last night and continue to receive today. If he hadn't done this, the Potter Drive house would most likely be under water by now; the rain water was getting dangerously close to meeting up with the arcadia door and into the house. (it looks like he's watering the patio with the hose, but he's actually testing to make sure the utility pump is working properly.)
Here is what he had to deal with. But as always, the man of the Potter Drive house saved the day, along with his trusty utility pump; all is well now.
