Boo! Guess Who...

After viewing the pics in the previous post, were you able to guess what Caitie and Bailey were going to be for halloween? Caitie ended up wearing both costumes you saw in the previous post, and Bailey wore her outfit, and a costume as well; the latter wasn't shown in the sneak peek post, it was a last-minute addition.

We went to a halloween event at the Peoria Sports Complex on Saturday night; the homemade costume was not yet complete, so Caitie wore her store-bought costume to the event. She was a SWAT team member.

Bailey wore a 'first halloween' sleeper and pumpkin (jack-o'-lantern) beanie to the event. As you can see here, I didn't put the beanie on all the way, it was a bit of a tight fit, so I just propped it on top of her head.

We took Caitie trick-or-treating tonight. She wore her homemade costume, which was completed just before heading out the door. She was her favorite dog Bolt from the Disney movie. She has a cold again (this is one thing i'm not too crazy about when it comes to her being in school), but she did fine at the event and trick-or-treating. She had been looking forward to halloween all year long, so she was determined to get up and go and have some fun. (she's doing much better now, by the way.)

I dressed Bailey as Mittens, the cat Bolt befriended in the Disney movie; this was a last-minute homemade costume. I wasn't going to dress her up, but decided to keep in 'theme' with Caitie's costume; I wanted both girls to match in some way. Michael was of great help on both costumes (bolt and mittens); there's no way they would have been done in time if he hadn't come to the rescue.

I was even in 'theme' to some degree... Caitie wanted me to go as Penny, Bolt's owner, so I dressed in similar colors and style, as much as I could, anyway. Michael was supposed to go as Rhino, a pet hamster that was also in the movie, but we couldn't find a plastic ball big enough for him to fit in, so he had to pass on it. ummm, yeah... Anyway... here is a pic of the characters in the Bolt movie (i'm makin' it easy for ya; just look at this here pic if you don't feel like clicking on each character name link above. i'm nice like that... sometimes).

It was ingenious how Michael built the 'skeleton' of this scarecrow; I'll explain how he did it in either the next post, or an upcoming post. Jack, as we like to call him, is sittin' on our upper master bedroom deck; he can be seen from the street behind us, which is a main thoroughfare in our neighborhood.
