O Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree last weekend. It's tradition to go to Target to get our tree. They were on sale, which was nice. It was a nice time to buy and decorate a tree; it was cold and rainy out, which made it seem Christmasy.

Michael tying the tree to the top of the SUV. I like this pic because of the clouds in the distance.

Another 'tying tree to roof' pic.

We stopped to pick up our Christmas tree ornaments and decorations on the way home from Target. We keep them in our storage unit. Caitie likes to play with some of the toys we keep in storage. She's outgrown them, but she still enjoys playing with them. Michael is 'flying' her around on her Radio Flyer Retro Rocket.

The only way to fly!

When we got home, it was time to clear the family room of some of Caitie's large toys; we put them in the living room. We needed to make room for the tree. When this was done, it was time to decorate the tree. I made hot chocolate; one must always have hot chocolate when decorating the Christmas tree. It's another tradition of mine.

We turned on some Christmas programs while decorating the tree. I like this one in particular, A Charlie Brown Christmas, because it includes the real meaning of Christmas. Gotta love Linus.

Michael is putting the lights on the tree, this is his job, he does it every year; he's really good at it. Caitie's watching the Christmas DVD. And I'm... well, as you can see, I'm taking pics. ha

It's time to add the ornaments to the tree, which are shiny, colorful balls. We all enjoyed this part. I let Caitie put the balls wherever she wanted; the bottom of the tree was covered with balls of all colors, of which I would move to upper parts of the tree when Caitie wasn't looking.

Michael started to add the star to the top of the tree, but noticed the tree was too tall for it, the star touched the ceiling, so he chopped a bit off the top of the tree. He was thrilled to grab his 'tree choppers', or whatever they're called, and do this manly task. He looks a little too excited, if you ask me. ha

Putting the star on top of the tree.

I got the Nativity Scene out. Caitie loves to play with this. I put them on the floor for a bit so she could look them over. She's looking at Baby Jesus in this pic.

Here's where I display it at.

We put a train around the bottom of the tree.

Michael and Caitie putting together the railroad tracks.

And the tree is done!

I thought I'd make an appearance via my reflection in the ball ornament.
