A recovering addict
Any Black Friday addicts out there? Did you bookmark special Black Friday sites, and have e-mail sent to you keeping you posted on all upcoming Black Friday specials? Did you look at the stores sales ads in the newspaper on Thanksgiving day? Did you set your clock for 3am? Did you have your coffee maker, or cappuccino maker, or whatever it is you coffee drinkers are into these days, set to have that cup of hot java all set to go when running out the door to jump in your unlocked, key in the ignition, ready-to-go vehicle? Or maybe you skipped all that and just camped out at your favorite store's door. Don't feel alone, I was out there too, but not until around 8am. I know, I know, I'm no longer a die-hard Black Friday addict, but I used to be; I got help and am now able to get up at a decent hour and just go out to watch the rest of y'all that haven't quite licked the habit do your thing. Each year gets easier for me. This year was made easier by there not being many good deals. That does help. Michael, Caitie, and I made it to several stores before 11am, which is when most of the good deals ended. We ended up empty-handed. Yay! I'm so proud of us. We used to buy stuff just because it was a good deal, whether we needed it or not. Pretty sad. Most of our time was spent watching Caitie enjoy musical instruments. She found drums to play, guitars to pick, and keyboards to pound on. She loves music. We went to several stores: Three different Wal-Marts, Best Buy, Target, Fry's Electronics, and Costco. Oh, and we stopped at Chick-fil-A for their tasty, you-must-try-it, peppermint chocolate chip milkshakes. Yum! That's what a recovering Black Friday addict gets when on the road to recovery, the only downside is I now have another addiction to overcome... and so it goes... *sigh*
